Laundry Room Organizer

Laundry rooms have a way of becoming catch-all spaces - overflowing shelves, half-empty bottles and piles that make a simple task feel overwhelming. As a professional home organizer, I love showing clients what’s possible when we declutter with intention and create simple systems that work. On this page, you’ll see before and after photos of laundry rooms that once felt crowded and chaotic transformed into spaces that are tidy and functional. When everything has a designated spot and supplies are easy to access, laundry day becomes smoother and less stressful. You spend less time searching for what you need and more time moving efficiently through your routine. An organized laundry room doesn’t just look better, it makes everyday chores feel lighter and more manageable.

Laundry Room Declutter by a Home Organizer

This Denver family is lucky to have a large laundry room. But sometimes extra room means extra clutter. We pulled everything off the shelves, out of the drawers and out of the cabinets to figure out what needed to stay and what items actually belonged elsewhere in the home. My client loved the large folding space and it serves double duty as her go-to wrapping surface, so we organized all of her giftwrapping supplies and made sure they were handy.

Home Organizing: Laundry Room Reset

When this client called, her laundry room had plenty of space but it wasn’t functional. Open shelving above the washer and dryer left everything coated in lint and dust, making it nearly impossible to keep the space tidy.

On the opposite wall, a shallow upper cabinet and deep lower cabinet created another challenge. The countertop became a catch-all and items stored below were hard to see and even harder to reach. The room felt cluttered and inefficient.

As a home organizer, I designed a custom cabinetry plan to solve those problems. We replaced the open shelving with closed upper cabinets to protect supplies and reduce visual clutter. The new cabinetry on the side wall maximizes depth and accessibility so everything has a clear, functional home.

The result is a streamlined laundry room that’s both beautiful and easy to maintain. With smart home organizing systems in place, it’s now simple to stay tidy, keep surfaces clear and enjoy a space that truly works.

Laundry Room Organization

The laundry room is one of the hardest-working rooms in the house. To make your laundry routine a little easier, keep it tidy. This laundry room had loads of space on the shelves, but the floor and machine tops were carrying the load. We just sorted, purged and organized to make the room work better for this family.

Laundry Room Transformation by a Home Organizer

This overloaded laundry room made getting the weekly wash done even more of a chore. The space actually has great shelving and drawer storage but my clients needed some help utilizing it properly. We didn't do very much purging. This project was all about getting things off the floor and into their designated bins and drawers. We also maximized the shelf space by moving things around. We also took a little time to unpack the final wardrobe box from their move a couple of years ago and put those items into the closet (and some into my car for a donation run). 🙂

Decluttered and Organized Laundry Space

This couple in Broomfield is lucky to have a fairly large linen closet just off their laundry room. But the shelves above the washer and dryer and in the linen closet had become cluttered and disorganized. The laundry area was a quick 10 minute fix. We removed items that didn't belong and added a couple of baskets to hold small items like cleaning rags and vacuum attachments. For the linen closet, we refolded the towels so they fit on the narrow shelves and then sorted them by bath, hand and wash rags. Next up were the sheet sets. We put each set of fitted, flat and pillowcases together. One great way to keep sheet sets looking neat is to store them inside one of the pillowcases. But like many of us, this homeowner knew she wouldn't be that disciplined so we laid each set side by side on the shelves. This closet also holds little used items like first aid and cold medicines. They were already in bins so we just moved them out of the way so we could keep towels on one shelf, sheets on another and rarely used items up top.
