This master closet had become a catchall for clothing, accessories, paperwork and random household clutter. While the closet itself had great potential, the lack of systems made it difficult for my clients to find what they needed or fully enjoy the space. Like so many closets, it had slowly become overstuffed and overwhelming; it was time for a master closet makeover.
Before designing a new organizing system, we started with the most important step in any organizing project: decluttering. We removed everything that didn’t belong in the closet, including office supplies and work papers, and relocated those items to spaces that made more sense for how they are used day to day.
Next came a full clothing, shoe and handbag edit. We carefully sorted through every category to determine what my client truly loved, wore and wanted to keep. By the end of the purge, we had filled two large donation bags and two large trash bags. That decluttering process immediately created more breathing room and gave us a much clearer vision for the newly organized closet design.

Once we knew exactly what needed to fit in the space, it was time to create a custom organizing plan. Because the closet needed to accommodate both a large gun cabinet and an island, we designed flexible storage solutions that maximized every inch of available space while still keeping the room open and easy to navigate.
To complete the transformation, we added matching hangers, shelf dividers, clear shoe boxes, labels, linen storage boxes, baskets and decorative hat boxes. These simple organizing products helped create a clean, streamlined look while ensuring everything had a designated home.
Her husband’s impressive baseball cap collection is now neatly contained in matching baskets. Handbags are stacked inside linen boxes so they stay protected while remaining easy to access. Shoes are visible at a glance thanks to clear shoe storage boxes, and hats are protected from dust inside labeled storage containers. One of my favorite finishing touches was the reusable chalkboard clip labels, which make it easy to update categories as needs change over time.

The end result is a closet that feels calm, functional and easy to maintain. With a place for everything and everything in its place, getting dressed each morning is now simple and stress-free. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by clutter, my clients can now enjoy a tidy, organized space that truly supports their daily routine.
And honestly? I think the best part is that these clients now do a little happy dance every morning when they get ready for the day. 😊
