Getting a house ready for sale can be stressful, exhausting and downright intimidating. That stress is increased when you’re put in charge of your parent’s estate. This Park Hill woman had spent years putting her mother’s affairs in order. The final task was getting all of the paperwork under control so the house could be staged and put on the market.
Paperwork is a beast unto itself. And this homeowner had lots of it! Not only did she have her own paper to keep track of, she had to keep meticulous records of house expenditures. This home is also in an historic district and the family had been there for half a century. So in addition to everything else, there was also an archiving project in the works. No wonder she felt overwhelmed!
When SOS arrived on the scene, paper had taken over the house: the living room, the dining room, the breakfast nook, the kitchen counters and even her bedroom.
We worked together for several months sorting, purging and filing papers. We also packed as we went, boxing up papers and personal items that would not be used to stage the house. We attacked closets, cabinets and even the garage.
And all of that work paid off! We met our deadline to put the house on the market and I’m happy to report it sold in the first couple of days!
